George Clooney ... and us...in Varenna

We are on beautiful Lake Como (Lago di Como) in the town of Varenna in the Northern Italian Lakes region with our friends Jean (from Vienna) and Bea (from Seattle). While we haven't run into George C. yet, we are staying somewhere nearby. Perhaps a village or two- or three- from his... We ourselves are also staying in a very lovely villa so we are not in the least bit envious. And I bet he is not nearly as well fed or having as good a time as we are! Drinking prosecco lakeside at sweet little cafes and eating gelato in every village we either hike, drive, or ferry over to is not something the paparazzi would allow him to do (which is exactly why I turned down George C.'s invitation to stay with him at his place- a woman must be freeeeeeeee to eat and drink wherever and whenever. I do appreciate that he swears he likes PLUS size women like me!).

Our villa is 20 minutes uphill from the main part of town- and we are talking an aerobic workout kind of "up"- which provides us with unbelievable views of the lake, a ringside seat for a middle of the night light show/thunder and lightning storm, and gorgeous garden scenes from all windows. It has to be the best place I've ever peed in my entire life!
